One of the courses I developed teaches students how to write code for computer games on a cell phone. When we get to the part where you learn the code to move an animated character around the screen, one of the animation examples I use is a green zombie. When developing the example, I did a Google search for zombies and came across a blog that posed the following question:

You are backed into an alley by a pack of zombies. You have:

1. One weapon
2. One song blasting on the radio
3. One famous person to fight alongside you

1. A crowbar.
2. Bad Moon Rising by Creedence Clearwater Revival.
3. Buffy. I never got the whole Edward/Twilight attraction thing when the movie came out. When I saw this video, I knew I’d want Buffy by my side when the zombies attack. Buffy rules.

How about you?

  1. 1. DJ Bubble machine
    2. Thriller (by Michael Jackson)
    3. Vincent Price

Zombies love to dance, especially in-step with each other. Bubble machines are slippery. Just before the song ends Vincent Price begins his crazy laugh. The zombies freak. Rhythm gone, they begin to slip and soon it is a chain-reaction zombie "pile-up." Only the living survive.

Almost wish this was not a hypothetical.

  2. 1. A double-sided axe
    2. "The S*** Will F*** You Up" by Combichrist
    3. If we're talking characters, the Joker from The Dark Knight.

  3. A Bubble machine and a pile of zombies. Sounds like Bum and Kells in 1975.

  4. Welcome Sordid:

I had to look up Combichrist - I had never heard of them. I found - on youtube - the song you would play to fight the zombies with. Very cool. This would most definitely be a great song to swing your axe to...

  5. 1. molotov cocktails
    2. "Pardon Me" by Incubus
    3. King Leonidas via Gerard Butler

  6. Hey there Ultraviolet! Well, another band/song I had to look up on youtube! You've got a fire theme going there between the cocktails and the song - very good for fighting zombies so I hear. And the music fits quite nicely with Gerard Butler's King Leonidas by your side. He looks like he could certainly kick some zombie a**.
